Contract Project Manager – Defence Sector

We’re hiring an experienced Project Manager to lead a range of engineering-led delivery projects within the defence sector. You’ll be the one who takes ownership from day one: managing deliverables, aligning stakeholders, driving timelines, and making sure what gets delivered is both on-scope and on-standard. If you can’t bring structure, pace, and accountability to complex technical environments, don’t apply.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Manage project deliverables end-to-end, working closely with engineering teams.
- Lead NPI projects alongside Operations to ensure products are production-ready and consistently high quality.
- Oversee bespoke customer delivery programmes, ensuring Engineering and Operations are aligned to customer requirements.
- Build and maintain project plans, coordinate stakeholders, track budgets and timelines.
- Monitor progress, chase down actions, escalate risks early and decisively.
- Ensure all work complies with internal procedures and customer quality expectations.
- Prepare and control project documentation as required.
- Report progress to senior management, highlighting any cost, timing, or resourcing risks with solutions not excuses.
What You Need:
- Strong project management background in defence, aerospace, or complex engineering environments.
- Proven experience delivering technical projects end-to-end.
- Confident communicator who can keep teams aligned and momentum high.
- Comfortable holding people accountable and making tough calls.
